Last week (May 16th) in www.Forbes.com an article about the sharing economy was written in the Entrepreneurs‘ section by Micha Kaufman, addressing the mega trend of the sharing economy and the role of (online) trust. A summarizing quote of the article is attached:
„But that isolation and our universal yearning to break through it are the catalysts for the new trust we have in each other. Because in order to open up our homes, share our cars, and hire each other directly, there must be trust. I’m talking about trust between total strangers. We meet on the internet, read reviews of each other’s services, maybe do our own Google search, or find each other on Facebook, and voila, we engage each other and make a new connection.
I’m not saying this is easy. It’s certainly more complicated than working at one job forever. Success in this new world takes proactivity and a ton of self-motivation. But there is vast opportunity to connect and piece together lives that are more fulfilling than ever.“
